What if you could have the simplicity of a 1x drivetrain, the tight gearing steps of a 2x all while eliminating the front derailleur? CLASSIFIED has made this dream a reality with their Powershift 2 speed rear hub. The CLASSIFIED Powershift hub utilizes a planetary gear system that is triggered by a wireless remote button located on the handlebar. The low gear is 70% the gearing selected on the drivetrain, so essentially the same gear range as a 2x without the hassle and risk of chain drop that comes with front derailleurs. This allows you to shift to a smaller gear ratio quickly on steep climbs under load, which is simply not possible with a front derailleur. Not only is the system easy to use, it actually is incredibly efficient as the gear ratio allows you to better utilize the middle gear on the bike and avoid the need for odd gear combinations of a 1x.
We are offering the CLASSIFIED Powershift hub mated to our their G19 carbon rims. The G19 is a low profile hookless rim perfect for 35-45mm tires at low pressure. The low profile rim is 19mm tall and a healthy 25mm internal width.
The ABLE is a high-performance off-road machine that tilts more towards the “mountain skinny” side of the gravel segment. It prefers a big tire but keeps a short rear end - in fact, it’s the same as the ALLROAD at 420mm. This is achieved by the most striking feature on the bike - the elevated drive-side chainstay.
Getting a chainstay this short with high tire volume is a packaging exercise because the chainring, chainstay, and tire all compete for space behind the bottom bracket. On mountain bikes this problem is addressed by widening the bottom bracket -- but that affects Q factor in a negative way. When we made the decision to make the ABLE 1X-specific it opened the design envelope and ultimately led to the decision to elevate the chainstay. By moving it up and out of the way we could make it extremely wide resulting in an incredibly responsive ride.
The ABLE begs to be ripped around on singletrack, fire roads, hardpack dirt, and chunky gravel. Proven on the brutal roads of the 2019 Unbound 200 where ALLIED athletes piloted their ABLEs to overall victory.
The ABLE is available in multiple paint and logo color options. If you have a color in mind you don't find there, contact our customer support team so we can discuss the possibilities.
