We spent two years obsessing over minutiae to ensure the new ALFA was a perfectly balanced racing bike. SRAM just finished a similar process with the new Red AXS, which shifts faster and tighter, brakes with more caliper force but requires 60-80% less lever force, and drops 150g across the entire group. But the thing we’re most excited about for Red is something less quantifiable: the refined lever and hood shape. It’s sleeker, it’s cleaner, it feels correct in ways that are tangible but hard to describe – just like the inimitable ride quality of the ALFA.
Like the new Red AXS, the ALFA is engineered for racing, but its buttery smooth ride translates to daily riding better than any unforgiving “aero superbike.” More like a superb bike, balancing aerodynamics and responsive efficiency with rider comfort and intuitive handling. It improves on everything we loved about the old ALFA – it’s livelier, lighter, smoother, and better at dodging drag in real-world conditions and yaw angles. Like we said before: balanced perfectly.
